Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 AMβ9 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Hunan Chef at (713) 984-8488; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Customers rate it 4.3 out of 5 on Google across 2,404 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded szechuan & hunan in Houston.
Houston is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Houston follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Hands down, this is the best Chinese buffet Iβve ever been to. The food is always fresh, there are tons of options, and everything Iβve tried has been consistently good. Iβm a big fan of the jalapeΓ±o chicken, wonton soup, egg rolls, and sesame chicken. And just when you think youβre done, thereβs a soft-serve ice cream machine waiting for you. The perfect way to top it all off.

I am skeptical of buffets, but this place made me see that some are of real quality. Food is always fresh and service is always good. Our favorites are the soup bar, fried fish, lo mein and soft serve ice cream. When we want Chinese food, this is where we go!

Great variety of Chinese food for the price they charge. If youβre hungry and love having plenty of options, this is definitely the place to go. While the sushi could be fresher and the sweet dishes have room for improvement, overall itβs a good value for money and worth trying.

Really surprisingly good. Was hungry, saw this off I10, went in, discovered it was a buffet, and I'm glad I did. It was the best buffet I've had since I was a kid. I will definitely go back here ot was about $18 per person including drink and there's a small sushi bar too!!
